About Us

A genealogy quest led us to broom making after Penny discovered her Great Grandpa Henry Arthur Morris grew broomcorn and made brooms in western Kansas in the early 1900s. What started as an attempt to make a couple hand brooms for Christmas turned into a business we truly enjoy! Here’s a bit about how we make our brooms.

Tom hand tying a sweeper. Tom ties all our crooked handled brooms using arm and foot power. We also use this tying table to craft all our hand brooms.

Here you see Penny sewing a sweeper. We add three rows of stitching to each broom. The press that holds the broom is cast iron and dates from the late 1800s.

Here Penny is using her foot-powered kick-winder. Broomcorn is added in multiple layers, ending with a layer of beautiful color. This machine has been helping make brooms since the late 1800s.

We are Tom and Penny Bieber. We live at Frog Hollow in the mountains of southern Colorado. We hope you love our brooms as much as we love making them for you!
